CHICAGO, IL – June 6, 2017 – Sterling Trading Tech (STT) announced a new risk solution, the Sterling Risk Engine or SRE. The Sterling Risk Engine calculates intraday, real-time risk based haircuts based on the OCC methodology for portfolio margin. The SRE can also be used to simulate market shocks and volatility shifts at user-defined levels.
Utilizing cutting edge quantitative and big data techniques for speed and efficiency, the SRE manages risk in real-time for hundreds of portfolios, solving a problem and challenge that many brokerages and clearing firms face. The Sterling Risk Engine handles a wide variety of equity products, including options and ETFs, including leveraged and inverse ETFs.
The SRE is available in a SaaS model (Software as a Service). The SRE supports multiple trading platforms, and offers independence, flexibility, and security with quick, low cost integration.
Jim Nevotti, President of STT states, “There are very few real-time risk solutions available. We are excited to offer SRE to the market and we are sure our clients will enjoy improved risk controls.” The Sterling Risk Engine eliminates the need for firms to build their own valuation engines. With SRE, firms can access real-time calculations via easy-to-use APIs, which reduce cost, complexity and provide improved risk management and oversight.
Ravi Jain, Director of Risk & Derivatives for STT states, “The SRE is built with advanced options technology providing the industry with a robust, sophisticated risk platform allowing our clients to monitor their own and their clients’ exposure.”
