Meet the Sterling Trading Tech Management Team
Farid has 25 years of experience in the financial technology industry as an entrepreneur, investor and manager. He is also currently Chairman of Document Depository Corporation, a SaaS company for data management solutions for the private capital industry, a company he founded in 2000, and a board member of Align Alytics. Farid served as Director of Gain Capital prior to its initial public offering in December 2010. Previously, he founded FNX Limited, a leading provider of global over-the-counter trading technology to the world's largest financial institutions. FNX was acquired by GL Trade (now part of SunGard) in 2007. Farid also has served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Jim joined Professional Trading Solutions in April 2014 as part of the acquisition of Sterling Trader, where he was head of Client Services and Support. While at Sterling Trader, he built teams to support thousands of traders worldwide, and was instrumental in the launch of international trading on the Sterling platform. Prior to joining Sterling in 2006, he was a proprietary futures trader at Goldenberg Hehmeyer & Co.
Andrew has over 15 years of trading industry experience. Prior to Sterling, Andrew has worked with a variety of firms within the financial industry on strategic operations and development solutions. As an industry veteran, Andrew has a deep understanding of market knowledge and insights. Andrew received his bachelor’s degree in Management and Accounting from Tulane University and is based out of Sterling's New York City office.
Ravi brings over 30 years of experience in options, quantitative trading and risk management across multiple asset classes and markets to the Sterling team. He formerly ran the global FX and metals options trading desk for Republic National Bank and has more recently been involved in the enterprise risk area for several major banks including HSBC and BNY Mellon. Ravi holds a PRM (Professional Risk Management) certification from PRMIA (Professional Risk Managers' International Association) with specialization in derivatives, quantitative strategies and alpha generation and takes special interest in volatility-based strategies and electronic trading.
Todd brings over 20 years of experience in the financial technology industry to the Sterling team with an emphasis on capital markets solutions. His expertise includes delivering multi asset class trading platforms, order management/risk solutions, and alternative trading systems. Most recently, Todd served as Director of Operations at ICE (Intercontinental Exchange) managing technology development and operations initiatives.
Melinda brings 15 years of marketing experience to the Sterling team. She has worked within the B2B, B2C and B2G sectors. Melinda studied Marketing Communications at Columbia College Chicago where she graduated Valedictorian of her class and is based out of Sterling's Chicago office.
Erik recently joined the Sterling team bringing over 2 decades of capital markets and international trading experience. Prior to joining Sterling, Erik has worked with a variety of firms including Gelber Group, Deutsche Bank and Mako Trading managing teams in client services, trading operations and portfolio management. Erik has deep knowledge and passion for the global financial markets and technology. Erik holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from DePaul University.
Mark joined Sterling in 2006 as a Help Desk Associate. Throughout his tenure at Sterling, he has served as a Help Desk Manager and VP of Client Services. Prior to joining Sterling, he spent six years on the technical support desk at Refco supporting futures traders. Mark is a graduate of DePaul University and is based out of Sterling's Chicago office.
Matt joined the Sterling team from Lightspeed where he had been since 2006. Prior to Lightspeed he worked with E-Trade Financials' Capital Markets desk. Matt graduated Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in 1999 and has been working in financial technology for 19 years with a focus on front ends, equity and option market data, and margin.
Mark joined Sterling in 2002 as a Help Desk Associate. While at Sterling, he also served as Vice President of Technical Operations. Prior to joining Sterling, he was a Trading Systems R&D Analyst for a Chicago based futures trading firm. Mark is a graduate of Purdue University and is based out of Sterling's Chicago office.
